Timing: Week 8-10
Skills: Delivery, Explanation, Interpersonal, Communication, Question & Answer Strategies

TASK: Format (Live) in threes
Assessment Arrangements: questions may be practiced before, but interview questions will be selected randomly on the day. The teacher will provide different sets of questions on the day

Students will demonstrate a job interview based on the most frequently used job interview questions. They will swap roles - each interview to be five minutes long.
Length: 10 minutes

Preparation:  Exercise #6 (due by Sun. 12 Oct.)
Job ad + Company research; CV-type notes

Details of the Task: All of the following should be included in a file entitled Job Interview in Blogger.com :

A. Job Ad:  Students are to look for a job online. Once they have found the job, they should print out the job ad that includes the Job requirements. You will be interviewed for this job in particular, so you should be familiar with the requirements.

B. One paragraph about this company you are applying to.(Don't COPY/Paste the ad!)

C. CV: You are required to hand in your CV highlighting your skills and qualifications

D. Interview: Do's Don't Sheet + Suggestions/ John+Jane


E. The 25 Most Frequent Interview Questions + Answers - Due 5 Oct.!

Week#4 - Public Service Announcements Exercise #4

Module 2 Assignment 1/ Exercise #4, you should be able to:

1. Listen to an announcement and transcribe its script.= ( 1 video) and...

2. Analyze the message of the announcement and its determine the component features (Introductory attention; main details and facts; Action + Benefits ) to
convey the meaning.

3. Also, Listen to 3 videos and write 3 summaries - Intro + Action + Benefits



Week#4 - Public Service Announcements Exercise #5:

Write up your own script to communicate a specific announcement you would like to make.
2. Your announcement could be on - public safety, healthy lifestyle, marketing or an upcoming event.
3. Using language with a high level of clarity and fluency, make an effective short public announcement (30-40 seconds long) in front of the class (live audience), OR as a link on your blogs..

4. There are some suggestions on different announcement topics: on BBL part #2 

- Be sure to include/ upload your PSA transcript with your recording to your blog!!

1. Homework - Now that you have watched 2 video examples of TED talks, it's your turn to find a talk from the TED site that interests you. Here is the link: http://www.ted.com/talks
2. Make sure the talk you pick is not too long (5-10 minutes long should be good enough).
3. Classwork - You will need to get your teacher to approve the TED talk you have chosen. No two students should have the same topic.
4. Next, you will listen to the selected talk using your headsets as many times as you wish and write notes to summarize the key points. This is called note-taking.
5. Watch the videos below to get some hints on how to write good notes and summarize. Submit your notes below once you are done.
